Kids getting irritable from strolling the Albert Cuyp can let loose in this colorful shop filled with imagination-sparking toys and games, while the parents get a very decent cup of koffie verheerd and a slice of homemade cake.
Winter sport thrills are available here all year-round. With two pistes - for beginners and the more advanced - and real snow, it's almost like the real thing. Even tiny sprogs can sample the snow during introductory sessions for 3 to 4 year olds.

Kids ages 8 and older will go crazy for this indoor race track, where they can play with pedal cars and electric F1 cars. Those ages 5 to 7can drive specially adjusted go-karts. For the younger tykes there's an indoor playground to jump around.

A sub-tropical pool with a stone beach, wave machine, toddler pool and slide. Look for 'disco swimming' for kids and specific baby and toddler sessions. The summer season offers a chance to do some swimming outdoors, with a 50m outdoor pool and a kiddie pool open till September.

A massive hall houses the biggest indoor climbing centre in the Netherlands, featuring different walls and 'mountains' to suit kids from age six up.

An urban recycling success, this cavernous indoor playground used to be an underpass. Huge, age-specific soft-play constructions provide endless joy for kids under 12, with ball pools for tiny tots and full-on jungle gyms for more adventurous older kids.
