Volendam Harbour, Volendam
Talk a walk down along the dike in Volendam, this is where the big boats tie up and you can see some fine examples of the seamans dream. Originally, Volendam was the location of the harbor of the nearby Edam, which was situated at the mouth of the river IJ. For watersports lovers, Volendam is the ideal venue for sailing or wind surfing. The Marken Express will take you by boat to Marken. From April until the end of October, it departs from Volendam Harbour each half hour.
